As the year 2020 drew to a close, virtual pet enthusiasts in the United States engaged with a variety of Android apps in the segment. Sensor Tower has compiled data that offers insights into how top applications within this category performed in the fourth quarter.

Cat Game - The Cats Collector! by Mino Games witnessed a steady decrease in downloads throughout the quarter, from around 10K in the last week of September to just above 5K by the end of December. Its weekly active users followed a similar downward trend, starting at 62K and ending at 42K. Revenue peaked in late October at approximately $41K and saw a slight uptick at the end of December, reaching nearly $39K.

My Cat - Virtual pet simulator from Appsyoulove also experienced a decline in both downloads and active users. Downloads dipped from 8K to around 8K, while weekly active users saw a drop from 39K to nearly 35K. The revenue for this app showed a modest fluctuation, ending the quarter at around $7K.

Outfit7 Limited's My Talking Tom 2 enjoyed a more positive trajectory in terms of downloads, starting at 56K and surging to an impressive 96K by the year's end. However, weekly active users maintained a relatively stable pattern, hovering around 640K to 716K. The app's revenue demonstrated consistent growth in the final weeks, with a peak of approximately $11K.

The same publisher's My Talking Tom Friends showed a significant increase in downloads, from 90K to over 110K, and a remarkable rise in weekly active users, from 967K to over 1M. The revenue for this app also observed a steady increase, ending the quarter at around $4K.

Lastly, My Talking Angela saw a healthy growth in downloads, from 42K to over 55K, and a slight uptick in active users, from 467K to 484K. Revenue for the app remained fairly stable, with a slight increase to nearly $5K by the end of December.
